Mindanao · Zamboanga Peninsula
Zamboanga City
A port city on the Zamboanga Peninsula with Chavacano heritage, a Spanish fort, and distinctive island beaches offshore.

Overview
Zamboanga City sits at the southwestern tip of the Zamboanga Peninsula and carries a distinct culture shaped by centuries of Spanish, Moro, and Sama influence, reflected in the Chavacano language spoken here and in the vintas that still cross the waterfront. The city centers on Fort Pilar and a busy promenade, and offshore lie island beaches and a cluster of small islands reached by boat. It is the main hub for the peninsula and a notable cultural stop in Mindanao.
